fourth of july.....all weekend long

we have been playing a lot lately. we were in utah for a week & then got home at the first of this week ready to put our nose to the grindstone. but, colton's office knows how to have a good time & pretty much took off the whole week to celebrate america's birthday. so, we celebrated too!

it has been hot! hot! hot! so, jones beach was the perfect answer on the fourth. after, that we headed to some friends house for a bbq & a rooftop party. we watched the fireworks, while coming to america was projected on the building behind us.

the beaches here are so nice! dare i say, i love them more than california?

such a great weekend, but the highlight might have been the purchase of an air conditioner! couldn't pry these two away!

Father's Day

we had a colton weekend, he is a father after all. things this good pop is into: flea markets, mexican food, & red velvet cake with rainbow chip frosting....for breakfast. oh...& lola. the brooklyn flea is awesome, great things there. lo was partial to this pig. we were more into the food than the goods...usually the case. we had the most amazing dark chocolate and vanilla bean shake there is! and the potato flautas blew our minds! breakfast cake...per request of the father. lo gave cake kisses on her own accord. some after church sketching and i think we had most of his favorites covered. they don't get better than this handsome fella right here.
